Home care in Pearl
In-home care in Pearl, MS, a short drive from our Jackson office
Pearl is the largest city in Rankin County and one of the closest towns to our downtown office, about 10 minutes by US 80. The free visit at your parent's home comes first.
Quick answer
Do you serve Pearl, MS?
We do. Exceptional Touch, a family-run home care agency in downtown Jackson, serves Pearl, MS. Pearl sits in Rankin County, about 10 minutes from our office, and our caregivers provide non-medical in-home care there: personal care, companionship and sitters, meals, housekeeping, rides, respite, round-the-clock care and dementia care. Payment is private pay or long-term care insurance. We do not bill Medicaid or Medicare.
The town itself
Pearl: close to everything, without a hospital of its own.
About 27,000 people lived in Pearl at the 2020 Census, the most of any city in Rankin County, and Census Bureau estimates put roughly one in seven residents at 65 or older. The houses are older and more modest than in Brandon or Flowood, many from the seventies and eighties, with a good share of rentals. Patrick Farms, the golf-course subdivision, is inside the city.
There is no hospital inside Pearl. Families here drive to Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood or Merit Health Rankin in Brandon, each about 10 minutes from the center of town, or to Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, about 15. If your mother no longer drives, that gap is where we come in. The medical part belongs to the hospital.
City of Pearl Senior Services (opens in new tab) on Valentour Road runs programs for adults 55 and over, and the Area Agency on Aging for the whole region has its office in Pearl, on Centre Pointe Boulevard. A caregiver can also get her to Bright Park or the golf course.

Non-medical care. Home Health is the legal name of the company, but we are not a home health agency and our caregivers do not give medical treatment. With medication we do reminders only, not administration. Anything medical, we will point you to the right provider.

Straight answers
Questions about home care in Pearl, answered.
Answered the way we would on the phone.
Is the Area Agency on Aging in Pearl the same as you?
No. The CMPDD Area Agency on Aging on Centre Pointe Boulevard is the regional public office for aging services, and it handles case management for the state's Elderly and Disabled Waiver. We are a private, family-run agency, about 10 minutes away in downtown Jackson.
Do you go outside the Pearl city limits?
Yes. Patrick Farms and the streets around Trustmark Park are inside the city, and if your mother lives past them, toward Flowood, Brandon or Richland, we go there too.
What if my mother in Pearl is on Medicaid?
Then private pay is probably not the road for her, and we would rather say that on the first call. We are private pay and long-term care insurance only. The Area Agency on Aging for Rankin County has its office right in Pearl, and the Elderly and Disabled Waiver is the other place to start.
